As well as our food court, fairground ride, silent disco tent and more, Summer Shutdown will also feature a lineup of big name and student performers and DJs throughout the night. Read on to find out who’s coming to campus on Wednesday 17th May. Click here for set times.
MistaJam is the soundtrack to Saturday nights across the UK, and now he’s bringing the best of the underground and the mainstream to Middlesex! The multi-award winning DJ currently broadcasts Monday to Thursday on Radio1, and hosts the party on Radio1 and 1Xtra on Saturday nights. You might also have been treated to a floor-filling MistaJam set at one of his clubnights or festival gigs, from Hideout to Creamfields.
Joining MistaJam is South London MC Nadia Rose, whose self-branded mix of ‘bassy, hard-hitting, dancehall, hip-hop infused fun’ saw her win a MOBO Award in November 2016. After opening for Busta Rhymes and playing a string of festival slots last summer, she was named in the BBC Music’s Sound of 2017 list earlier this year, and is only going to get bigger… Check out her tunes on Spotify here.
Yasser has been keeping MDXSU House Parties lit this year, and will be back to keep the dancefloor hot for Summer Shutdown. As well as holding weekly residencies at some of the biggest clubs in the country, including Sankeys Manchester and the Warehouse Leeds – both in the top 100 clubs in the world – Yasser is also one of the faces of 4Music, and the voice of the flagship new music show on BBC’s Asian Network – alongside takeovers on Radio1 and 1Xtra.
And that’s not all…
Supporting our big names in MDX House and the Igloo stage will be student and DJs:
- DJ Prez (DJ Set)
- DJ Frapzkid and Frank [tbc] (DJ Set)
- Adam Romo (DJ Set)
